Kathleen Namphy to Speak About Iraqi Detainees![]() All Saints' Episcopal Church 555 Waverley St., Palo Alto On Thursday, July 15, Multifaith Voices for Peace and Justice (MVPJ) will sponsor
a 7:00 PM program at All Saints' Episcopal Church (555 Waverley St. Palo Alto)
featuring Kathleen Namphy, member of the Iraq team of Christian Peacemaker Teams
(CPT). Kathleen will be speaking about her work with Iraqi detainees.
Faces of War and Terror WorkshopExplore war and terror and create a mask to tell your story. During this one day workshop led by Susan Galleymore, you will accept a role,
create a mask for that role, and, at the end of the day, tell your story about
war and terror. Roles include but are not limited to US, Afghani, and Iraqi
children, mothers, fathers, US soldier, Bush, Rumsfeld, Saddam Hussein (even
Uday and Qusay if you're so inclined).
Remembering the Memorial VigilOn Thursday, May 27, 2004, a few hundred people gathered to honor lives and protest the deaths in an interfaith peace vigil in Palo Alto, California. The San Jose Mercury News covered this vigil (read the news article). The vigil was organized and publicized by Multifaith Voices for Peace and Justice.To respond to numerous requests for the Prayer of Repentance
from the vigil and Iraq II, a poem written and recited by the Rev. George Wilson, we've reprinted the text of these below.
