Veteran's Day 2004 - Envisioning An End To War Sponsored by Multifaith Voices for Peace & Justice and Stanford University Office of Religious Life An interfaith service of prayer, remembrance, silence, and hope was held on Thursday, November 11th at Memorial Church, Stanford University Clockwise Jazib Zahir (Muslim), Rabbi Karlin-Neumann (Jew), Rev. Joanne Sanders (Christian), and Rachel Enslow (Baha'i) call people to prayer at the beginning of a Veteran's Day remembrance seeking to envision an end to war.

Kathleen will be speaking about her work with Iraqi detainees.

Faces of War and Terror Workshop

Explore war and terror and create a mask to tell your story.

During this one day workshop led by Susan Galleymore, you will accept a role, create a mask for that role, and, at the end of the day, tell your story about war and terror. Roles include but are not limited to US, Afghani, and Iraqi children, mothers, fathers, US soldier, Bush, Rumsfeld, Saddam Hussein (even Uday and Qusay if you're so inclined).

Remembering the Memorial Vigil

On Thursday, May 27, 2004, a few hundred people gathered to honor lives and protest the deaths in an interfaith peace vigil in Palo Alto, California. The San Jose Mercury News covered this vigil (read the news article). The vigil was organized and publicized by Multifaith Voices for Peace and Justice.

To respond to numerous requests for the Prayer of Repentance from the vigil and Iraq II, a poem written and recited by the Rev. George Wilson, we've reprinted the text of these below.

A Mother Speaks Out for Peace

At our Multifaith Call for Peace on March 21st, 2004, our featured speaker was Ms. Susan Galleymore, a mother of a U.S. soldier currently serving in Iraq. Ms. Galleymore is also an author and traveled to Iraq herself this past January to visit her son Nick and to interview Iraqi mothers for an upcoming book giving voice to mothers affected by the War on Terrorism.
