Description: The church shooting in Charleston, the deaths of unarmed African Americans during police custody or apprehension, and the resulting protests and targeting of police officers have emphasized the ongoing struggles of race in America. Our viewpoints are shaped by our experiences, which are shaped by our race and class. The 69 minute film "White Like Me" explores race and racism historically and today through the lens of Tim Wise' work on whiteness and white privilege. The Peace and Justice Task Force of First Congregational Church of Palo Alto will sponsor a showing of this documentary followed by discussion.
