May 2023

Peaceful, silent vigils every Friday for peace and justice

When: Friday, May 26 2023 @ 12:00 pm - - 01:00pm
Event Type:
Contact: Judy Adams
Where: Embarcadero and El Camino
Palo Alto, CA 94025
Description: Silent vigils starting May 5, noon-1pm, every Friday in May. Join us to stand peacefully in solidarity to protect the rights and freedoms of our diverse population, honoring this month, Asian, and South Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders who celebrate their cultures in May.

May is also Affordable Housing Month, so we also stand in silent vigil to urge our cities, counties, states, and federal housing authorities to develop more low-income and "affordable" housing, and provide housing for the many homeless individuals and families in need of a safe home and support services.

We gather as usual at the busy Palo Alto intersection of El Camino & Embarcadero, outside Town & Country Village shopping center (across from Paly High and the Embarcadero/Galvez entry to Stanford), weather permitting, with signs to share, or bring your own.

This event is sponsored by Peninsula/Palo Alto Women's Intl. League for Peace & Freedom
