Peaceful Sidewalk Demonstrations in Palo Alto

When: Friday, January 11 2019 @ 12:00 pm - - 01:00pm
Event Type:
Contact: Judy Adams
Where: El Camino and Embarcadero
Palo Alto, CA
Description: Join the small weekly (every Friday) peaceful sidewalk demonstration for peace and justice issues sponsored by WILPF at the corner of El Camino and Embarcadero/Galvez (where it enters Stanford across the street) in Palo Alto just down from the El Camino entrance to the Town & Country Village center, by the big yellow lantern "sign". We are partners with the Poor People's Cammpaign based on Rev. MLK Jr.'s '67/'68 campaign cut short by his assassination, to end poverty, racism, militarism and ecological devastation of our planet. We continue our vigil in support of the human rights of migrants seeking asylum, and against Pres. Trump holding Americans hostage to his obsession to build a $5+billion border wall. He claims the migrants are a security threat, when his policies and "government by tweets" is the greatest risk to our security and democracy. Stand peacefully with us for an hour every Friday unless we are rained out. For more info: Bring a sign or borrow one of ours. Look for our colorful WILPF/PPC banner on the curved stone wall on the El Camino side of Town & Country village.

This event is sponsored by Peninsula/Palo Alto Women's International League for Peace and Freedom and San Mateo Peace Action
