Peaceful Sidewalk Demonstration for the Poor People's Campaign

Description: This peaceful demonstration at the corner of El Camino Real and Embarcadero in Palo Alto (outside Town and Country Village shopping center), on Memorial Day weekend, is in support of the 2018 Poor People's Campaign (PPC), a "revival" of the 1968 campaign organized by Rev. Martin Luther King. Goals of the PPC are to goals to unite in ending poverty, racism, militarism and ecological devastation that threaten all of us. In honor of Memorial Day, we demonstrate to halt the war economy that takes funds desperately needed from human needs and services, an we demonstrate against nuclear weapons, and in support of providing for our military veterans' healthcare, education and housing needs.

Join us, help us hold our banner high for all to see. We have signs to share but also encourage you to bring a sign of your own with an appropriate message.
