I LOVE Ukraine:
An Interfaith Grassroots Campaign of Protest and Support

JOIN THE CAMPAIGN! SEND A MESSAGE TODAY!

With the horrific and brutal assault on Ukraine unfolding, I love Ukraine is an initiative for good people of all ages everywhere to stand up and to speak out against this unspeakable inhumanity. Governments have spoken. Now it is time for individuals to add their voices.

We invite you to send an expression of protest to the Russian government and a message of support for Ukrainian children and citizens by email, regular mail, and social media.

We hope that Expressions of Protest will flood the Russian Embassy with messages of protest. Join us in this global effort to demand an end to the brutal Russian assault. Sample messages and instructions are below.

We hope that Expressions of Support will fill the inboxes and mailboxes of the Ukrainian Embassy and Consulates with messages of love. Sample messages and instructions are below.

With the guidance of teachers and parents, children are especially encouraged to write their messages and to draw pictures for Ukrainian children who have been forced to flee or remain in harm’s way.

Multifaith Voices for Peace and Justice is proud to join in this campaign with the Board of Rabbis for Northern California, other faith partners and people of goodwill around the world!

Suggested ideas for letters or emails of PROTEST from adults or children:
(It is always best to put things in your own words of course!)

  • Please stop the invasion! We are all brothers and sisters. Join me in standing with the people of Ukraine!
  • Stop the invasion! War is NOT the answer! Our world needs to find a way to live together in peace, or we will end up destroying each other.
  • Everyone of us has a voice to say "NO" to war! Join with me and work to end the violence in Ukraine.
  • It hurts to think of children like me so scared and living in such danger. We beg you to stop the violence NOW!

Ideas for thoughts and sentiments for letters or emails of SUPPORT from adults or children:
(It is always best to put things in your own words of course!)

  • I don't know you but I send you my love. I pray that peace will return to you, your loved ones, and your country.
  • My heart is broken thinking of the pain and anguish you are experiencing. Please know that our prayers are for you and your family to be safe.
  • With each passing day I know that the situation you face may be more devasting and critical. May you find resevoirs of hope and strength to endure these times. Much of the world stands in solidarity with you.
  • I know that the sunflower is the national flower of Ukraine. I am planting sunflowers to think of you. It is my deepest hope that as these sunflowers grow, so too can the children of Ukraine grow up with a renewed sense of safety, security and freedom.
