Byron Bland, associate director of the Stanford Center on Conflict and Negotiation, is an ordained Presbyterian minister and former Stanford campus chaplain. He is currently involved in a research project with Community Dialogue, a grassroots organization exploring the social and political dynamics of reconciliation in Northern Ireland. He also works with the Floersheimer Institute for Policy Studies and the International Peace and Cooperation Center on peace-building efforts in Jerusalem.
