Prayers and Meditations for Peace Project

(View web-friendly version here)

Read about and get your faith community (or small group within your community) involved in this exciting and fun project to express peace with the richness and diversity of our many faith traditions.

Purpose

To provide a collection of pictures and prayers that will help foster healing and peace in this troubled world, heighten awareness of the desire for peace shared by all faith communities, and inspire action in working for peace and justice.

This project results in an ever expanding collection of prayers, meditations, and children's illustrations visualizing peace from faith communities worldwide. These are displayed as a collection of web pages accessible through the Multifaith Voices for Peace and Justice website (www.multifaithpeace.org). Portions of this collection will also be available for purchase as a CD-ROM.

To submit a prayer and illustration to this project is a simple process...
  1. Get your faith community (or a small group within your community) together to compose a prayer or meditation and the children of your community to create an illustration of peace on an 8-1/2" x 11" piece of paper. The prayer or meditation should be a maximum of 300 words. If the prayer is written in a language other than English, please include an English translation. (Both the prayer and illustration should be original work that does not infringe upon copyrights.)
  2. Follow these submission instructions
  3. Wait a maximum of 8 to 10 days for your contribution to the project to become part of the project. You will be emailed with a confirmation that your prayer/meditation has been posted and the URL (web address) that you can use to view it.
